HAM001, ‘The Ridings’ is a 2xCD package with the additional CD being remixes from a number of invited artists, including Bracken, Part Timer, aus and Epic45.

July 2009 saw the release of HAM002, ‘Haunt The Upper Hallways’ from Hood co-founder member Richard Adams, in his guise as The Declining Winter. ‘Haunt The Upper Hallways’ is a 3 track 7″ Single which comes packaged with a bonus full length (10 tracks) CD . Initial copies also came with a bonus CD of remixes from the likes of Strategy, Library Tapes and Winter North Atlantic (amongst others).

Artists on the label:

Fieldhead is Paul Elam (a resident of Leeds, UK). He produces ambient/electronic music that delights in tape hiss, geography, bleak landscapes and decaying analogue loops. He is also a full time member of The Declining Winter and a part time member of Glissando’s Fleeting Glimpse Ensemble. His debut release was the “Introductions” EP, released in 2008. A split EP with Copenhagen’s Iris to Hypnos is due for release on Static Caravan in late 2009, and there will be live dates in the UK, Denmark and Sweden alongside Jasper TX and Grouper.

The debut album from Fieldhead, entitled ‘They Shook Hands For Hours’ is due for release on 2nd November 2009 and pre-order details together with a limited bonus remix CD offer are available on our buy page.

“Swathes of ambient sounds, emanating from near darkness – a perfect aural anaesthetic.” – Whisperin’ and Hollerin’

The Declining Winter is the brainchild of Hood co-founder Richard Adams.

2008 saw the release of the critically acclaimed “Goodbye Minnesota” CD on Ireland’s Rusted Rail records whilst Adams also took The Declining Winter on a successful tour throughout the UK and Europe.

“Haunt The Upper Hallways” is the first new music recorded by The Declining Winter since “Goodbye Minnesota”. This, the second release on Home Assembly Music is available now and can be ordered here on our buy page. Full details can also be found on our releases page.

“Alongside his brother Chris as the motivating force behind English pastoral rock outfit Hood, Richard Adams extends that group’s late-period move into gentle electronica, warping and glitching minimal folk-pop melodies played on bedroom guitars and drums. The quietly resigned tenor gesturing toward emotional troubles that remain just out of focus”. – UNCUT

Northerner is Bradford based artist, Martin Cummings.

With one well received EP “There’ll Be Other Holiday’s” released on the Misplaced Music imprint early in 2008 and contributions to The Declining Winter’s “Goodbye Minnesota” long player, he released his debut album “The Ridings” in February 2009 to widespread critical acclaim.

A number of tracks (full length versions) from ‘The Ridings’ can be heard on our listen page and this double digipak CD containing a bonus disc of remixes is available to order on our buy page.

A further EP entitled ’1976′ will be issued on Hibernate Recordings in October 2009.

His sound has been described as “ranging from lovingly constructed neo-classical evocations to haunting electronic lullabies and Arthur Russell influenced minimalist techno”. Misplaced Music
