John McCaffrey (Part Timer) shot the footage in an abandoned psychiatric hospital to accompany the wonderful track ‘Simple Pleasures’ by Heidi Elva.
This is not the official video for ‘Simple Pleasures’. More an experimentation of sorts.
‘Simple Pleasures’ is taken from her upcoming album ‘Lo-Fi Musings’ which will be released later this year.
‘Lo-fi Musings’ is like a series of minimal landscape photographs. You can hear the mountains and the rolling hills of Heidi’s birthplace in New Zealand, mixed in with the movement and night time musings of living in a city like Sydney. There’s this hovering tension between past lovers and there’s Heidi’s voice like a seductive narcotic leading you into addiction.
