We recently discovered the delicate sounds of Anna Rose Carter and have been blown away by her upcoming release ‘Silver Lines’ due out this Monday 1st March on Schedios Records…
‘Silver Lines’ literally bathes in beauty…
Young artist Anna Rose creates majestic piano structured compositions that have an atmospheric portrait attached to them unlike anything I have heard for some time. It’s almost like a fusion of Nils Frahm meets Peter Broderick! Quite a statement I know, but that’s just how good this work is.
The key to the success of each piece is the simplicity of her arrangements. There is nothing overcomplicated here, and yet you witness an enormously impressive compositional quality that gently expands withing each track allowing the listening experience to be achingly beautiful.
As a modern composition project ‘Silver Lines’ paints its own opulent picture of mystery and love that transends througout each track in a powerful way leaving me in a state of complete tranquality and I have no doubt that Anna Rose will be a name on every music journo’s lips over the coming year. 9/10
A word or two about the artist:
”Hailing from the idyllic wilds of the south coast of Wales, Anna Rose, born November 1988, grew up being inspired by her surroundings. She started playing piano aged seven and was influenced by many modern day classical composers as well as the natural beauty around her. Her piano solo work is soon to make its debut on the label Schedios Records. Silver Lines, comprising of five pieces, is a raw, emotional reflection of her upbringing in Wales. She is currently based in London where she is studying, collaborating and developing her own music.”

Just heard Silver Lines on Clem Leek’s LastFM station. I am heartbroken I missed out on this, but grateful it’s available from Bandcamp. There are days when I miss the pre-Internet challenges of having to hunt and hope for a physical copy of an album. This is not one of them.
