There isn’t much of an introduction needed here as the music selection from Svarte speaks for itself…
‘An alternative 2009 summation based on image and sound rather than words.’
I was inspired to make a mix when asked, and used the last 2 days working on something that I think sums up my year 2009 in ways of music I’ve listened too, artists I have worked with, and songs that ended up beeing soundtracks to happenings in my life at the time.
Kreng – In de Berm pt. 3 (Miasmah)
Lyenn – Wistful Longer (Munich)
Nadja – Affective Fields (Crucial Blast)
Le Corbeau – Hypernoir (Fysisk Format)
Ulver – Lyckantropens Theme 1 (Jester)
Adam Pacione – The Channel Swimmer (Infraction)
Elegi – Råk (Miasmah)
Tiny Vipers – Life On Earth (Sub Pop)
Christian Naujoks – Young Blood (Dial)
Tim Hecker – Pond Life (Kranky)
Fever Ray – Dry and Dusty (Rabid)
Desire – Under Your Spell (Italians Do It Better)
The Sight Below – Shimmer (From “It All Falls Apart” on Ghostly 2010)
Andre Borgen – Standing Here While I Do (Humbug)
Simon Scott – The ACC (Miasmah)
Labradford – Accelerating On A Smoother Road (Kranky)
Svarte Greiner – Live Prague dec09 Excerpt (Unreleased)
(Field recordings done during 2009 scattered around the mix)
A photographic journey of Svarte’s 2009
