For the last 10 years Peter van Cooten has been creating ambient mix/collages for Dutch radio shows (such as NPS-Folio, which he also co-hosted)…
In 2009, these radio shows were cancelled (because they were too experimental and thus attracted too little listeners), so he decided to continue to promote the music on his own personal weblog dedicated to ambient-electronic music: www.ambientblog.net (all radio mixes can still be found there!)
Van Cooten’s mixes are not the normal ‘mixtape-format’: there are no ‘head-tail’ full-track mixes, but include a lot of different fragments, sometimes layered to become virtually indistinguishable from each other. The context in which it is presented now defines the emotional impact of the track.
This particular mix was especially created for Fluid-Radio in march 2010.

Beautiful mix. Listening now.
Wonderful, thanks.
Peter was one of the few guys at Dutch national radio truly willing to take risks. He never cared for image or star-appeal and always went straight for the music. Good to see him here! It’s a pity his show was taking off schedule, but ambientblog is still an excellent source for ambient, drones and sound art…
well this is something… thx…
