Dead Pilot records was set up in early 2007 as a platform for local artists/bands or artists met via websites such as myspace to release something physical; influenced by the increasing pay-for-download culture (and with it, the devaluation of music as a physical product) and the tiny labels still pioneering the physical format.
The first release was a limited to 200 compilation CDr of a vast array of sounds from technical metal to neo classical. Since then, Dead Pilot has developed into a rather special label, releasing music from the likes of Message to Bears, Stray Ghost & Ekca Liena.
Dead Pilot is based in Buckinghamshire, UK and is run solely by one person, but with help from several amazing people.
