Xela recently took time out from his busy schedule and delved deep into his tape and vinyl collection. The end result is a sublime exclusive mix entitled ‘Summer at Seventh Door’…
Xela is John P. Twells, a British ex-pat who now resides in deepest Massachusetts. Besides releasing music on a plethora of different labels (including Digitalis, Root Strata and Dekorder), John runs the influential Type label and enjoys a sideline in collecting hip hop merchandise, b-movies and macabre comicbooks.
This mix was pieced together in his Seventh Door recording studio, and influenced by the shimmering locales of the North Boston area… all that and his ample collection of rapidly aging vinyl.
