In the impending light of Max Richter’s new album infra, FatCat Records’ contemporary classical and experimental younger sibling 130701 presents a podcast hosted by Fluid Radio…
Featuring mainly tracks from Max and other artists on 130701 with a few from other FatCat imprints, it is a journey through modern classical and contemporary composition with insights into drone, free-form post-rock and ambient. An additional track from Ekca Liena’s Slow Music For Rapid Eye Movement, due to be re-released by Dead Pilot Records later this year, has also been included in the mix.

“infra” really turned out an exciting album. A handful of themes are intricately re-organised and continually reshuffled, electronics and acoustic instruments merge in a seamless way – there’s a real sense of a “journey” here which not all that many producers/composers are capable of conveying.
