Since the EPA’s big brother tactics forced the Hebdon Bridge gigs to be no more, it is very good news indeed to see that Jonathan over at Hibernate Recs has persevered to bring us a new collection of experimental music performances. This time round the new venue is set in The Library, Woodhouse Lane, Leeds and will see Jasper TX, Danny Saul and Relmic Statute set the ball rolling for what we hope will be the first of many at the new location…

12th March, The Library, Woodhouse Lane, Leeds. Starts 8.00pm.

Jasper TX is the musical moniker of Sweden’s Dag Rosenqvist. Using electric and acoustic guitar, piano, pump organ, melodica, glockenspiel, voice and various other instruments as a foundation for his compositions, Dag has managed to create his own musical universe. Elements of post rock, drone, improvisation, noise and lo-fi aesthetics mix with a melodic pop sensibility that results in something quite unique.

Danny Saul is an experimental musician and songwriter based in Manchester, UK. Aside from his work as a solo performer, his involvement in a variety of projects over the past few years have included an ongoing improvisational partnership with Greg Haines (working under the name Liondialer), and a number of notable collaborations and live performances with the likes of Ben Frost, Machinefabriek, Peter Broderick, Jasper TX and Simon Scott among others.

Relmic Statute is Leeds-based artist who assembles lulling, grainy soundscapes soaked in faded analogue memory from cassettes, reel to reel tapes and digital recordings. In a live performance he uses an akai reel to reel machine, samples, live am radio waves, guitar and other live audio to create modern experimental and ambient textures.

Was Ist Das Soundsystem will be spinning a mixture of drone, ambient & folk between sets.
