Scott Worthington - Prism, artist stood in Canyonlands National Park, Utah

Scott Worthington’s piece ‘Even the Light Itself Falls’ was a big hit with us when we reviewed Ensemble et cetera’s recording of it some months back. Now the double bass-wielding composer has launched a pre-order campaign to raise funds for the release of a new album, and the rewards on offer for backing are very enticing.

For those who thought there wasn’t enough bass on the previous release, the new album has more — up to five double basses at once for the piece ‘Quintet (After Feldman)’, in fact. Supporters can also bag signed CDs, a score for an album track of their choice (let a thousand bedroom covers bloom!), a visit with the composer replete with tea and cookies, and, if you are lucky enough to live within 100 miles of Los Angeles, a concert in the comfort of your own home.

This writer is not so fortunately located, but the album is nonetheless hotly anticipated. You can hear samples, show your support, and get cool stuff on the artist’s website:
