The Sequence series, released by Futuresequence, aims to showcase the best in electronic and electroacoustic musics: drone, noise, ambient, modern classical, experimental and so on. Each compilation is curated from submissions sent in by artists, and chosen based on the quality of each track. The ethos has always been to align music from new talent with that of established artists from any geographical location.
The success of previous editions can be measured not only by the large number of downloads – 3,000 plus per compilation, but by feedback from the artists themselves; many of which cite the albums as being a springboard for their work, reaching a wider audience and helping them progress their career as an artist.
Now in its seventh edition, some changes to the submission and curation process have been made, the aim being to make things as fair and as manageable as possible, focusing the usual 200 plus submissions down to a final list of 30 tracks. We hope to release another stunning addition to the SEQUENCE series, introduce new artists to the community and round off our second year as a label.
