The next concert to be presented by UK experimental music label Another Timbre features a rare UK appearance by Swiss composer and clarinettist Jürg Frey. Frey is a longstanding member of the Wandelweiser Collective, and recordings of his work have appeared on labels such as Edition Wandelweiser, Potlatch, Irritable Hedgehog, and Erstwhile. He will perform several of his chamber pieces alongside a great ensemble of UK-based musicians: Ryoko Akama (electronics), Mira Benjamin (violin), Dominic Lash (double bass), Anton Lukoszevieze (cello) and Seth Woods (cello). Members of the ensemble will also perform works by John Lely and Bruno Duplant to launch the following Another Timbre CDs: John Lely’s “The Harmonics of Real Strings” played by Anton Lukoszevieze, and “Next to Nothing” by the trio of Ryoko Akama, Bruno Duplant and Dominic Lash.
