Scott Worthington’s piece ‘Even the Light Itself Falls’ was a big hit with us when we reviewed Ensemble et cetera’s recording of it some months back. Now the double bass-wielding composer has launched a pre-order campaign to raise funds for the release of a new album, and the rewards on offer for backing are very enticing.
For those who thought there wasn’t enough bass on the previous release, the new album has more — up to five double basses at once for the piece ‘Quintet (After Feldman)’, in fact. Supporters can also bag signed CDs, a score for an album track of their choice (let a thousand bedroom covers bloom!), a visit with the composer replete with tea and cookies, and, if you are lucky enough to live within 100 miles of Los Angeles, a concert in the comfort of your own home.
