30 April – 1 May 2016
Soundcamp is a series of outdoor listening events on International Dawn Chorus Day, linked by Reveil: a 24 hour broadcast that tracks the sounds of daybreak, travelling West from microphone to microphone on sounds transmitted live by audio streamers around the globe.
Soundcamp / Reveil will be at Stave Hill Ecological Park in Rotherhithe from the 30th of April to the 1st of MAY 2016, and at soundcamps elsewhere in the UK and beyond.
For information on camping, listening, broadcasting or contributing a live sound stream, visit our website soundtent.org or mail contact@soundtent.org.
You can hear sounds from the first Reveil broadcast in May 2014 in the Archive. These include streams from the Locus Sonus soundmap, independent projects, commissions and transient streams specially for the event.
Soundcamp exists as the assembled activities of artists, scientists, activists, listeners and others, who contribute live audio streams at daybreak and head outdoors in small or larger forays to explore the sound ecology of strange and familiar places. For 24 hours those sounds are strung together to create a long, live composition and a kind of clock.
We warmly welcome your involvement. Please let us know if you are interested or have questions: contact@soundtent.org for general inquiries.
