We are sad to report the untimely passing of composer and multimedia artist Marcus Fjellström. The news was announced on the website of Fjellström’s label Miasmah Recordings, with the following tribute:

It is with a heavy heart that we share with you the news that our dear friend Marcus Fjellström passed away earlier this month. It feels unreal to have to write these words and to accept that he is no longer with us in life. Marcus was one of the most beloved, funny and warm-hearted people, and we will miss him immensely. He will live on through shared memories and the incredible legacy of his compositions, sound and visual work. RIP MF

Fjellström was well-known for recordings such as “Gebrauchsmusik” (2006), “Schattenspieler” (2010), and his most recent album “Skelektikon” (2017), and also composed a number of works for orchestra and dance. In recent years he explored a range of multimedia and audiovisual techniques, including the ‘Lichtspiel Mutations’ and ‘Odboy AND Erordog’ series and audiovisual chamber opera “Boris Christ”.

Our condolences go out to his family and friends.
