From the 5th to the 8th of December, a short drive from the capital city of the wild and beautiful Madeira, a selection of the world’s finest experimental musicians will descend onto the island for the for the fifth year of MADEIRADiG. Digital in Berlin have once again curated a supremely tantalising line-up that will place abstract improvised noise textures and drones together under the glowing sun.
The venue for proceedings is the multi-media complex Art Centre Casa Das Mudas. The organisation is devoted to exposing contemporary creative action to the public and encouraging an inclusive and supportive network of learning and discovery.
Heavy hitters on the three day programme include Lawrence English, Tony Conrad and Aaron Dilloway, with aftershow performances and DJing taking things into the night hours. Following the festival almost immediately comes the Madeira Micro Film Festival, held in a 100-year old art deco cinema from December 10th – 13th.
Limited spaces are still available and certain ticket deals include accommodation in the definitely swanky Estalagem da Ponta do Sol design hotel, that will host the later festival activities.
